I let some pressure out of the expansion tank and the vibrating noise disappeared. I’d recommend installing a pressure reducing valve on your water main into your home. Your current water pressure is 68-70psi. State water heaters recommends 60psi. I think that adding the PRV would eliminate the noise further.

I replaced a heat pump hot water heater in Goffstown, NH. The existing unit was inefficient, so I removed it and installed a new Rheem ProTerra Hybrid Electric Heat Pump water heater. Everything with your Trane Oil Furnace maintenance / cleaning went great. I replaced the oil nozzle, oil pump strainer, and oil tank filter. I cleaned and reset the electrodes. I vacuumed the heat exchanger, flue pipe, and chimney base out. I resealed the vent pipe with new tape. The inspection port covers on the furnace were corroded and need to be replaced. I will order a new set and we will see you Friday afternoon to replace them and perform a combustion analysis on the furnace to ensure proper operation! Thank you.
I serviced a hot water heater today by first cleaning the inlet filter to remove any sediment or debris affecting water flow. After cleaning, I checked the temperature rise by measuring the difference between the inlet and outlet water temperatures. The result showed only a 1/2 degree rise, which indicated a possible leak in the system. Upon further inspection, I found a small leak in the pressure relief valve. I shut off the water supply, replaced the faulty valve, and tested the system again. After repairs, the temperature rise was within the proper range, and the water heater is now functioning correctly.
I inspected the shower for leaks and determined that the issue was not coming from the shower itself but likely from the roof. Based on the drain layout and surrounding conditions, it appears the leak is originating from the plumbing vent for the second-floor bathrooms, which is located on the lower roof near the bathroom windows. Additionally, the vent for the apartment is positioned on the roof near the door with the outdoor light. The roof area around these vents may need further inspection to locate the exact source of the leak and resolve the issue.
