Replaced hot water heater
I started off with the indoor Mitsubishi air handler. I replaced the air bear filter with a new filter that the client supplied. Next I took off the panels and I cleaned the coil with Dawn soap and then I flushed the trap with cleaner. Lastly, I checked the electrical connections and everything looked good. Next I went outside and I washed the outdoor coil from the inside out with water. I checked electrical connections and everything looked good. The wireless thermostat was having trouble connecting to the unit when I powered on everything. I called into tech-support and checked a couple things with my meter. The Technician told me to unplugged the unit outside for 10 minutes and then turn it back on. I tried this and it didn’t work. The client mentioned that it could be the Kumo cloud that was acting up so I disconnected the cloud controller from the control board. I powered off the air handler from the breaker for 5 minutes. I came out to look for an exhaust smell. I smelt more of a sewage smell but the effected area was far from any drains. I actually ended up finding a dead mouse. Although I am almpst 100% certain this was the cause of the smell- I still checked every gas connection with an electronic detector and checked every exhaust fitting just to be safe of everything. Thank you!
The Veissmann natural gas boiler maintenance was completed today. Everything went well and there were no issues to be found. Thank you!
Conversion of existing failed steam system to a modern whole home comfort system to provide the first and second floors with forced air heating and cooling. To maximize efficiency and reduce fossil fuels, we will install a hybrid system (heat pump with back-up gas furnace) for the first floor. The second floor system will be a full electric system comprising of an air handler to service the main rooms and two mini-split heads to serve the back office off of the primary bedroom and the garage below it. Heat rises, so we can rely on the full electric system on the second floor versus having two hybrid systems. Existing steam boiler will be disconnected, removed, and recycled. Steam piping will also be removed from property to allow room for ductwork. *Based on no piping containing asbestos. Radiators will be client's responsibility to remove. First floor will have floor registers; supply and returns. Second floor will have ceiling registers; supply and returns. Each system will be cont
